Handmade in Nairobi, Kenya, each set of four sticks has a unique set of colored beads. This is an essential tool in the production of our favorite cocktail, the Dawa.
Recipe: Take a nice round, shiny, juicy lime and cut it into quarters. Toss the limes in a rocks glass, add a rounded teaspoon of sugar, 2 oz. of vodka, and a heaping teaspoon of your favorite honey. With your Dawa stick, smoosh the mixture together and top off the glass with ice. Continue smooshing. Sip. Smoosh. It's a drink, and something to do with your hands. In Kiswahili it means "medicine." I'm not going to argue.Cheers!
