We believe every hive should be on a screened bottom board and we recommend leaving it open all year around. The screen helps with mite control by allowing up to 10% of the mites to simply fall to the ground. And ventilation is essential to hive health, especially in winter. Use with a slatted bottom for even better overwintering success.
Comes with a tray for mite count inspections. Available in 8 frame, 10 frame, or 5 frame (nucleus colony sizes.
